Google page rank grows with the mathamatical accumulation of inbound links, and the numerical page rank of your web site grows. a 1 is low with a few inbound links, and a 9 to 10 is virtually inachievable. These are websites such as Google, Yahoo, Youtube, MySpace, the big volume hitters. A 6 -7 is extremely rare in most industries, just due to the niche being small in comparison to a large volume site, so consider yourself well to have a 2, 3 is good, 4 and you will beat most sites that show up in your chosen search results. Higher value searches are more competative. Prices can be as high as 30.00 a click for Loans, to .05 cents for free games online. With these kind of pay per click prices, SEO is heavy in usage, perfected, and rank totally takes over. With the many inbound links that older established websites, national banks, and credit card companies have, those are tough to reach. Many niche terms are very achievable however, with a much smaller market of providers competing for the search position.
